Can I download the shows?

Not at this time. Stay tuned, though - we're preparing the shows produced prior to 2004 for downloading soon.

What new material is added monthly?

Joe produces one new show for Premium Members, plus we generally add Joe Frank short films and rare Joe Frank projects. See what is now available in New Shows.

How can I pay for Membership?

You can sign up online and pay using PayPal. (You do not need to sign up with PayPal)

Be sure to include your email address with payment. As soon as your check clears, or when we receive your money order, we will email you with your membership information and access. You can change your user name and password after logging in.

What is the term of a Membership?

The day you sign up, your subscription cycle begins. It ends on the same day the following month (or after three months if you signed up for a Quarterly Premium Membership). At that time, your PayPal account will be automatically charged and you may continue listening through the next month - unless you cancel at any time during the subscription cycle.

For example, if you signed up for a monthly membership, you can access shows during the entire month of your membership. If you cancel at any time during that month, you will still have access until the end of the cycle. At that time, your account will be closed. Sorry, we cannot offer refunds.

You can check the status of your Membership on your Member Page. You'll see the date you signed up, the duration of the Membership, the type of Membership, and a link to cancel.

Can I listen to the shows for just one month?

Yes. The Memberships are all recurring, so to insure you will not be charged for the next month, here are the steps to follow: Sign up for the Membership of your choice. On your Member Page, you will see a list of the Memberships you've signed up for. Below each title is a "cancel" link. After you sign up, you may click on this link to cancel your Membership, and this insures that you will not be charged at the end of the cycle. However, you will be able to access the streams throughout the month of your Membership. At the end of that term, your Member Page will show that you have no active subscriptions. Then, you may purchase the Membership again for access.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes! There is a link on your Member page so you may cancel at any time. Look under "Your Payment History" for a "cancel" link underneath each Membership you signed up for. Here is a snapshot pointing out the "cancel" link:

Where to Cancel Membership

Very important: For security reasons, we will NOT cancel your membership for you. Please do not send us an email requesting your account to be cancelled. (If you do send us an email, we will refer you back here and will not be liable for any funds charged to your account if you have not cancelled.) So when you want to cancel, please click the link "cancel" under your subscription on your member page. OR, you may cancel in your personal PayPal account.

When you cancel, you will continue to have access to the shows throughout the Membership cycle. At the end of the cycle, you will need to sign up again for access. (See the Term of Membership above for more details about cancelling)

How do I access the shows?

After you log in, you will see your Member Page with your payment history, a link to cancel, and a list of your subscriptions. Click on a subscription and that link takes you to the streams. You may access the individual shows by clicking on the heading(s). (For example, the Series titles, the monthly content, etc.)

How do I manage My Play List?

Here's one way we devised to keep our bandwidth costs manageable: You are allotted a maximum of 5 shows to add to your Play List at one given time.

After you select a show, it is placed in your Play List. It will remain there for 2 hours. It takes about 5 - 10 seconds for the media to become ready to play. You'll see a note that media is getting ready, then a note that says "Click to Play."

When you click on "Click to Play," it begins playing in an embedded player in the browser window (this means that you'll see the player on the same page as your Play List). Now if you would like to listen to the stream after it's ready, you can click "Play" (stop the embedded stream first) and it will open the Player window. You may prefer this in order to keep working on the web, or to see the short films in a larger format.

Once a specific show is selected, the clock starts to count down immediately for that show. You can see the time remaining to the right of the show title. The show will drop off of your Play List after the 2 hours has passed. And then you may add another show to your Play List.

You may listen to a show as many times as you wish. And you may re-select it once it has dropped out of your Play List.

Can I delete a show from My Play List?

Not at this time.

Can I purchase a gift Membership?

Yes. You can do it in a number of ways: Send a check or money order for the membership type, with the name and email address of the gift recipient together with your email address. Or, you can send money from your PayPal account to: ppv[at]joefrank.com with this information. More info - send an email to contact[at]joefrank.com.

Why do you charge to listen to shows?

So we can cover costs for streaming shows, films, and Joe Frank's new work. In the past, when Joe Frank shows were aired in Los Angeles, KCRW streamed his programs at no cost to us. Now all of that has changed. Our objective here at the web site is to offer all of Joe's shows while covering the costs of doing so. (This includes paying for: programmers, server space, bandwidth, encoding, and maintenance.) At the same time, our primary objective is to provide as many shows for a low rate for Premium Members along with many shows streamed free of charge.

Why do I need to register to listen to free shows?

It is one way we can protect the streams so that our bandwidth usage stays as low as possible. By the way, we respect your privacy and do not share your information with anyone.

Can I change the type of Membership I have?

Yes. Cancel your existing subscription before the end of your recurring subscription cycle. At that time, you may order any subscription you wish on your Member page. (See the heading "Add or Renew Subscriptions) However, wait until close to the expiration of your current subscription cycle. We cannot issue a refund for the time remaining in the cycle.

Can I stream the shows using a player other than Windows Media?

No. We spent quite a bit of time researching what would be the most efficient and cost effective way of offering all of the Joe Frank programs for listening online. And Windows Media player 9 (or higher) is the best option available. This high quality player is available for both Mac and PC platforms on several operating systems.
