Joe lists a series of irritations Joe suffers from his girlfriend, Lila’s habits. He discovers love letters to her from an Icelandic professor. Joe predicts and describes a horrific future for the Earth. We hear a series of entries from Joe’s travel book: Revolution Plaza in Buenos Aires. A bus ride in Puerto Madrin in winter. The Dallas / Fort Worth airport people mover. Flying over Tanganyika Game Reserve in a hot air balloon. Dancing in Rio in platform shoes. Joe discusses drones in his shows and wonders why listeners have not complained. Joe compares different lives and wonders: Who is happier? He sees himself at the nadir of his radio career with “miserably repetitive, uninventive, foolishly derivative and self-indulgent superficial mock intellectual drool.”
