Joe determines that to save his job he would ingratiate himself to her by appearing in her office, and declare himself a Russian poet who was imprisoned. Describes in detail his fantasy of living in a Russian prison. I’ll tell her I wrote my best work on toilet paper.” Joe pumps himself up with helium, trying to make himself larger than life. Lists famous larger-than-life people. Joe’s stepfather and mother call in to promote his show. Feigns breaking his arms off as proof he’ll do anything to get listeners to pledge. Classic Joe: He brings a puppy into the studio, threatening to shoot it if people do not call in and pledge.
