Product Description
Weapons dealers and a low level terrorist participate in a conference call. They discuss the latest weaponry: hair gas, electromagnetic and sterility warfare, boomerang missiles, uniforms that look like civilian clothing, psychological warfare by placing speakers under children’s pillows. This is followed by a description of a visit to Katmandu. Then Joe tells the story of being picked up by a hippie while hitchhiking across the country, and a disagreement with a burly truck driver that leads to a high speed chase.

This is a great show for the uninitiated. I usually pass this one on to friends who are not yet Frankophiles but who I see as potential converts. You get a taste of Joe’s sensibility without drifting too far into the absurd. There’s a classic improvised talk radio bit about warfare from the point of view of military leaders and a domestic “terrorist,” and there’s a random tale about Joe and friends trying to find a cheap hotel while traveling in the Himalayas. Joe’s haunting diction and pacing keep you riveted. This was one of the first episodes I stumbled upon on years ago while looking for a good tune on the radio. I found myself waiting in my car not ready to go inside, wondering, “Who is this guy and how can I hear more?”
